IL CASTELLO NELSON

Nelson Castle is located 700 meters from Casolare delle Balze, on the banks of Saraceno stream. Some parts of the residence of Admiral Horace Nelson is now used as a museum. The Castle is embellished with a splendid English garden with centuries-old plants. The entrance is composed by a large park, split by a path along which there is an open-air museum of lava stone sculptures of world-renowned artists.

Nebrodi park is the largest protected area in Sicily. It extends over much of the northern coast. Among its forests, its pastures and its fauna, it hides many lakes, some of which are easily reachable. Lake Maulazzo and Lake Biviere are the most famous and accessible destinations in the park.

Pistachio of Bronte is a valuable product harvested once every two years. CASTIGLIONE DI SICILIA

A medieval village perched on one of the volcanic hills of the Alcantara valley, you will need 40-minute drive to reach it. The village is a collection of suggestive alleys, churches set in the rock and a monumental castle.

ALCANTARA GORGES

It takes 45 minutes by car to reach the Alcantara Gorges starting from Casolare delle Balze. Known all over in the world for its columnar basalts, the gorges are narrow lava canyons through which the Alcantara river flows where river trekking, canyoning and body rafting are practiced daily.

MANIACE MUSEUM

It's a permanent exhibition of work tools and utensils used in the past that show the daily life of the farmers.
